Located just 15 minutes from Aspen Colorado, Anderson Ranch Arts Center has served as the artistic and cultural hub of the Town of Snowmass Village since 1966, providing time and space to artists – from beginners to experienced practitioners – to create, discuss and discover.

Marketing Intern, Social Media Strategist

Can you make it five minutes without checking your Insta? If the answer is “no”, we want you to channel that social media mania into our accounts at Anderson Ranch! The Social Media Strategist Intern is an active, multifaceted, key position on the Ranch Marketing team—providing a bird’s eye view of all the fun going on at the Ranch behind the scenes. You’ll manage our social media channels, keep the public up-to-date on our workshops and events and chronicle what it’s like to be here, every day, during a fun and busy time! This is a very exciting and important position and will give you access to the Ranch all summer long.

You’ll also assist with uploading photos to social media, blog and website, and provide general marketing support as needed.

Interpersonal skills needed: The ability to connect with artists, faculty,and staff of all ages and backgrounds in order to capture excellent stories for the web. You must possess a team spirit, strong work ethic, be highly organized and able to multi-task. Flexible schedule for participating in evening and early morning events. Ability to respond to instructions and constructive critiques.

Software and Tech skills: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WordPress and basic website editing.

Links to your website or other relevant social media are required for consideration as well as a writing sample, along with a CV and graduation date..

Timeframe: Mid-May to late September.

Marketing Intern, Photojournalist

The Marketing Photojournalism Intern is an active, multifaceted, key position on the Ranch Marketing team—providing the majority of workshop and event photography utilized in Ranch digital and printed media and major media advertising for summer and beyond. See the digital workshop catalog on our website for examples of intern photography—this is an excellent chance to learn, grow and build a portfolio showcasing an important arts organization, and be fully immersed in the entire Anderson Ranch experience. You will also have the opportunity to shoot and edit video as interest and need allow. This is a very busy, exciting and important position. The Photojournalism Intern will also assist with uploading photos to social media, blog and website as needed, working with the Marketing Social Media Strategist Intern.

Photo skills needed: DSLR photography mastery with speedlite (we are using a Canon 6D). Experience in photo editing and photo library organization in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. An excellent eye for quick composition, framing and editing shots. Understanding of adapting to varying light conditions, shooting photojournalism-style at a high level, as well as styling and directing shots when needed. The ability to execute a shot list. Step-and-repeat event photography experience a plus. Strong interest in video production also a plus!
